Galvanised steel wire mesh is made from electro-galvanised steel wire, which can corrode after the material is exposed to the atmosphere.
As long as you can maintain the coating of the paint, it should be ok.
But steel has the characteristic of getting corroded, so it can easily rust. But this mesh is a cheaper option compared to stainless steel security door mesh. This mesh also complies with the Australian bushfire safety standard, so it can be used as bushfire protection mesh.
